Jonathan R. has been a Protestant Christian for several years. Like every believer, he felt early on the responsibility to ensure that his convictions were not merely inherited or assumed, but rather examined and rooted in Scripture—capable of providing a reason for them when questioned. This concern led him to do what the Bereans did: carefully open the Bible, compare versions, ask difficult questions, and not settle for vague answers.

His conviction is simple: truth never fears scrutiny. If what we believe is true, it will withstand any question. If it is not, it is best to find out as soon as possible. As Jesus warned, a house built on sand falls when the winds blow; only the one built on rock stands (Matthew 7:24-27). Every Christian has the responsibility to ensure that their faith rests on the rock of Scripture, not on traditions, feelings, or human authorities.
