Aiden Wilson Tozer was a largely self-taught American pastor, editor, and writer who served for more than thirty years as a minister in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, most notably at Southside Alliance Church in Chicago. Though he never earned a formal theological degree, he became one of the most influential devotional writers of twentieth-century evangelicalism.
Tozer edited the denomination's magazine, Alliance Life, for over a decade, using it as a platform to call the church back to reverence, prayer, and the pursuit of God's presence in an increasingly pragmatic age.
