John Murray

John Murray was a Scottish-American Reformed theologian who taught systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia for nearly four decades. Raised on a farm in the Scottish Highlands, he lost an eye in the First World War before pursuing theological studies at Princeton and Edinburgh.

Known for his precise, careful exegesis and his commitment to Reformed orthodoxy, Murray helped train generations of pastors and theologians and left a lasting body of work on the doctrines of redemption, the covenant, and Christian ethics.
